It was an early and exciting start to the 2010 school year. Term started early as all South African schools will break for an extended mid-year holiday to enable us ALL to enjoy every minute of World Cup 2010!
It was extra exciting at HOKISA as we had 3 new Grade Ones starting, very proudly, in their new shiny school uniforms, who had been counting the sleeps until school started for weeks already.

We also have a new Grade R learner who has now left her neighbourhood creche’ and travels confidently to ‘BIG’ school with the older children and is loving it.
The children are all settling into their classes with their new teachers and are happy to see friends again and get involved in the school year. It is going to be a busy one with many activities, ranging from cricket, running, tennis and hockey, to drama, dancing, piano and life saving.
We celebrate a 16th birthday with two of our teenagers this year, and we will be deciding and applying for high schools soon for two others - so rewarding to watch them all grow up and so lucky to be a part of all of their lives.
